Thanks for considering Painted Lady Press. Submissions are accepted either as features or manuscripts.
Features can be in the form of non-fiction (essays, opinion, arguments, creative non-fiction, reviews, critiques), fiction (prose, and plays), or poetry. These are published on the website as blogs. For features, the maximum word count is 5,000 words, and no minimum word count.
There is a separate call out for themed anthologies.
Manuscripts are long-form works received in genres similar to features. The minimum word count for this category is 15,000 words.
Accepted work may undergo an editorial process and feedback given whenever possible to submitted work.
Painted Lady Press urges all contributors to register their work for copyright protection through the national copyright registry before submitting to us. For a guide on how to copyright literature for Kenyan citizens, click here.
